Android 4.4 (KitKat) rolling out, starting tonight!

I've been using completely unofficial version of the KitKat-based CyanogenMod 11 on my original Kindle Fire for the past few days. It's as fast as ICS was on the Fire, and a ton faster than any version of Jelly Bean was. It'll hold me over until I buy a new Nexus 7 early next year.

Still waiting patiently on Nexus 7 2012 & 2013. If I didn't have the Nexus 5, I'd be sideloading on the N7

I finally got the OTA on my Nexus 7 2013. Took minutes to update and it runs just fine

Does this update automatically? say if I turn off my phone, then tomorrow turn it on and it starts the update? does it update similar to say the google chrome browser?

Depends on the phone. Nexus? Yes, sort of. It won't be in Play Store like Chrome is, but you'll get a notification saying a new version of Android is ready to install. It'll reboot the phone to install and then boot back into Android when it's done.

I just updated my HTC One with 4.4. I already had the N5 launcher, so everything looks and works just like my Nexus 5. It's kind of weird having them both sitting on the desk and saying "Ok, Google" and they both start listening. I think I'm going to start an army or something.
