Maybe some other websites? I prefer free, but can look at others. Thanks

0 ultimate99
Are you looking for tutorials on how to write SQL or manage database servers? write SQL, i took an paid intro course, looking for something intermediate. Managing db servers would be great too.
0 LambdaLambdaLambdaFn
Putting the cart before the horse, I think. Learn SQL first, then to be a DBA. If it's intermediate level SQL, there are gobs of tutorials online that you can find by typing "PL/SQL tutorial" into any search engine. The canonical course would be Oracle University, and while not cheap is a good stepping stone to certification. Personally, I wouldn't try to learn programming for a YouTube video -- I think you'll get better results with a book or online course, but maybe that's just me. You could go to a local college bookstore and buy the text book that the students are using and you'll get 90% of what you need from there. HTH. 0 ultimate99
hmm...oracle. I thought learning general sql would be more flexible and easier than Oracle.
0 LambdaLambdaLambdaFn
The SQL use you at an intermediate level with Oracle will mostly be the same as any other database server. You'll find some difference (eg, Oracle's "DECODE"). For the most part, though, I don't think you'll see much difference at the intermediate level. 0 123456789A
I never took a class or tutorial. Just learned SQL as I go with a handy reference guide as things come up in my job. Probably not the best way to go about things, but it's not the most complicated thing in the world.

0 ultimate99
http://www.w3schools.com/sql/ is a decent tutorial. I used that site before, but would like something more robust. I suggested youtube because i like to watch an listen. When it comes to books I have no clue which book to study from and what makes one differ from the other? 0 ultimate99
So from all these 4 books, which one would you recommend? http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/1590599438/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1NJSA81TQMH1K546G982&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1630048562&pf_rd_i=915398 www.amazon.ca/SQL-Cookbook-Anthony-Molinaro/dp/0596009763/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_3 http://www.amazon.ca/Sams-Teach-Yourself-Minutes-Edition/dp/0672336073/ref=pd_sim_b_4 http://www.amazon.ca/Database-Design-Mere-Mortals-Hands-/dp/0321884493/ref=sr_1_11?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1385771246&sr=1-11&keywords=databases
0 LambdaLambdaLambdaFn
I haven't read any of them. I don't like the SAMS books, so I'd steer clear (other mights have different opinions). So just looking at the description briefly and what I understand what you want, I'd say the first one plus http://www.amazon.ca/SQL-Nutshell-Kevin-Kline/dp/0596518846/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1385849575&sr=1-1&keywords=sql+in+a+nutshell That last one you listed is about database design, which I don't get the impression is what you're after.T Take this advice with BIG grain of salt.
