What is the best webcam that one can buy?

Best quality (1080P streaming, video call, recording)

I suppose that's all that is important right?

I am only asking here cause I trust people on these forums, and some might have used some. Also, I see no new reviews, only stuff from the beginning of the year.

I don't think the big players, Microsoft and Logitech released anything new this year. They released good HD webcams last year, they get good review. I'm on my mobile phone now otherwise I'd post direct links.

If you have an old camcorder or a camera with video mode that you can plug to the PC (via firewire or USB and use it in slave mode), then that would be the best option because it will save you money and it will most likely provide you with a better picture quality. I gave the second life to my first digital camcorder this way years after I had retired it from its main function.

As for buying a new one, I'd get a webcam made by Logitech, Creative, or Microsoft (in no particular order).
