iOS 7.1 Beta is now available

Recommended Posts

iOS 7.1 beta 1 includes a number of bug fixes and (seriously needed) performance enhancements. iPad includes a tweaked closing animation in the pinch-to-close gesture.

A few other changes include a new toggle for ?dark keyboard? in the accessibility settings and an option to upload ?burst mode photos? to Photo Stream for iPhone 5s users (Thanks Skylor and Dan!). Toggling ?bold text? no longer requires restarting your device as it has up to iOS 7.0.4 and can be found in the text size menu now in addition to the general accessibility menu. A new ?auto HDR mode? appears in the beta as well as flash indicators when auto flash exacts to activate.

Notification Center now features a new dialog when cleared and a tweaked button for clearing items (slightly easier). The new Yahoo! logo that appeared in Settings in iOS 7.0.4 last week has also made its appearance in Notification Center as well as Weather and Stocks. Flickr now features a gradient-less logo throughout the system.

Also more info, screenshots, videos, and full release notes there. There's a few interesting things, but nothing too exciting.

Improve it under the hood Apple. My iPhone 5 and others' 5c feels sluggish compared to the 5s in simply sharing a few pictures thru the photos app!

I hope 7.1 comes out soon followed by a jailbreak.  I think Evaders already have one spotted just waiting for 7.1.

I'm afraid most of the iPad issues (such as the poor quality of the Music App) won't be addressed until iOS 8

I reverted back to 7.0.4. There seems to be a bug where if you're playing music through the Music app, it closes out after a certain amount of time. Not exactly sure why. Steps taken to try to remedy the situation: changed the song. lol Anyone else experience this? Some apps crash and close out also (facebook/instagram for example). It's expected though, it IS a BETA. :)

edit: Also a bug with the Camera app as well; you load it from a fresh start and it doesn't continue initializing (shows a black screen but the controls are there). Hm?

Does anyone know if Beta 3 fixed the exploit for the Jailbreak?

It hasn't but there will be more betas coming to patch it, no doubt.

Unimpressed with iOS7 on the iPad 2. Feels pretty damn slow.  Hope 7.1 resolves that.

Quick as can be for me, i have a new mini and a ipad2, both feel exactly the same. after upgrading to ios7, did you possibly try a reset?

Some of the UI modifications do seem like a rollback to iOS 6 of sorts. Although the keyboard font being thicker seems purely done for the sake of improved contrast/readability.

Only bizarre change is the inverted shift key. It just feels weird.
