Negative Xbox One Amazon reviews from Sony fans

* Few, as in more than one.

 

Yeah, at the time of writing this, 4 total, out of 124 (3%), so 97% of the 1-star XB1 reviews are from non-verified "purchasers".

Hopefully Microsoft takes these problems seriously instead of denying the problem for months like they did with the 360's infamous Red Ring of Death. At least Sony excepted and fixed their Yellow Light of Death problem when it happened with the PS3 on initial release.

MS seems to be taking it seriously. They have laid out where to contact them and they have claimed to be happy to get repairs done quickly.

Sony also had problems at launch for the ps4 and are trying to get them fixed asap.

How'd you come to this conclusion? Because I just checked the first four pages of the 1-star reviews and 24 were verified purchasers (Each page is 10 reviews which means 24 out of 40)

 

I'm not going to go through all 25 pages of reviews its has at present but going from the first few pages of reviews its 60% of the 1-star reviews are verified purchases of the console..

 

I did the same check on the PS4 reviews first four pages and its 17/40 so 42% verified purchases.

When I wrote it, there were 124 1-star reviews, 4 were verified, it isn't a conclusion, it was a fact. There's now 63/245 verified, so still, a majority (74%) of 1-star reviews are from non-verified "purchasers".

Where are you seeing this? I don't see any filters for verified/non-verified.

Unfortunately Amazon doesn't have a option to filter, but I wrote a browser extension back when Amazon verified reviews were first introduced to do so, I don't see much point reading reviews from unverified purchasers, so it hides them by default. You're more than welcome to count them if you don't believe the numbers.

Tried to find an extension for Chrome or Firefox (even from userscripts.org) doesn't seem to have one which does this, care to share your extension so we could verify it ourselves?

It isn't publicly released, nor is it packaged for release, so no, not really. You can still verify the numbers yourself by simply counting/searching for the instances of "Amazon Verified Purchase" on the pages. As a comparison 532/821 of the 1-star PS4 reviews are verified (65%), still a high percent of potential trolls, but not as many as with the XB1.
