Review of the Bing Weather App on Windows 8/RT

Recommended Posts

I admit, I really love this app and use it a lot on my tablet. Its beautiful and provides lots of information.

Design: It is a very well designed app. You just slide and drag your finger to the left to view the weather info. Everything is nice, crisp and sharp. The colors used in the app are all very well balanced. Things are easy to find. Text is highly readable.

Content: The Bing weather app is fully loaded like a Mercedes, there is tons of stuff in the app from hourly weather to radar and my favorite which is currently the ski resorts info. The first part of the app shows the current conditions, detailed conditions and a the extended forecast. The second part of the Bing Weather App has the hourly forecast, radar, historical weather, and travel related weather. The radar is nice and full screen. However, I think the radar could use some more advanced tools like showing what time a thunderstorm will arrive. There is also satellite maps, precipitation map and temperature maps. The radar works very well, but the radar becomes blurry when you zoom in.

Ski Resorts Info

This is a really cool thing in the Bing Weather App. It shows the current condition for the ski resort. It also has a map of the ski trails for the mountain. There is description and a small history of ski resort with a little visual that shows the summit elevation, base elevation and vertical drop elevation. There is also info about the status of the resort (open or closed), the amount of fresh snow, base depth, lifts open and amount of trails open. There is also a hourly weather forecast and a radar. Lastly, there is reviews of the resort at the end.

Its is easy to use

Don't like

There is not a whole lot not to like about it, except for maybe the lack of advanced tools in the radar.

Bottom Line

Its an exceptional weather app and it will serve all weather enthusiasts or people just wanting to know the weather.
