Fastest overclockable PC on air?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

520W might be cutting it. I'd rather get a Corsair TX650 or TX750

i agree with Mindovermaster.

especially if you plan on overclocking you don't want to change undercutting yourself on the PSU. it's always good practice to give yourself a good amount of headroom with the PSU

Anything in the fanless area?

If not, how much watts?

Hello,

Anything in the fanless area?Seasonic. How much wats?

an honest opinion. don't get a fanless PSU. they get hotter and tend to be less reliable

a good PSU w/ a fan can be just as quiet as a fanless & the fan can even turn off on good ones when it detects it's not needed currently

Hello,

Seasonic SS-760XP then :)

I use an XFX 750W Pro Black Edition to power an overclocked Haswell + 2 enthusiast graphics cards in SLI, it's fully modular, doesn't make a sound, and costs significantly less than Seasonic branded PSUs.

I trust Seasonic though :) Amazing PSU Ive had on my system for more than 5 years.

Hello,

Ill check it out later today and if its the same and price difference is worth it, Ill go with the XFX.

Im having trouble finding Seasonics here, thats why mostly.

Besides that, I think that machine looks pretty good and will OC great... I did not take in consideration that our room temp is higher than most offices (its -4 C right now here) because of AC but....we will see how that plays out.

Hello,

XFX PSUs are rebranded Seasonics, so you can buy with confidence :) http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-manufacturer,2913-10.html

The one you stated is 80 Plus Gold, while the one I stated is 80 Plus Platinum. At least it uses energy more efficiently :p

Besides that, I cant find that XFX here either so...

Hello,

Recieved the Artic Silver and the case today. Artic Silver my opinion is N/A....

Now the case.....amazing :) Now Im not sure if its NZXT's fault or the transport company, but there are a bit of nicks and inperfections (some inside the case such as the HDD trays not locking securely) but either way, I am impressed very much with the case. Nice, big space, and I think the favorite thing for now is the ability to really customize it :)

Which brings me to my next question: This case has 3 cages for HDDs: From top to bottom, 3 bay cage (A), 2 bay cage (B), and 3 bay cage ©. All of these can be removed and switched around. At the bottom there is a huge case fan covering both B and C. The manual recommends to remove cages if they are not needed. What cages should I remove and where should I put the SSD, with the fan sucking in air on it (B or C) or not? Should I put it at the highest level (top), middle, or lowest level (bottom)? Since it is a SSD, I thought a fan isnt really neccesary so I removed B and C and I plan to put it on top with A.

(BTW, should I make another thread for setup, building, and overclocking it?)

Thanks
