Just starting a thread to track this game. It's supposed to be about "Around launch" and I'm looking forward to it.

Developer:  4j Studios

Announcement Trailer:

News:

Developer recently stated that they're hoping to allow imports of 360 saved worlds.

A little voice in my head is hoping those of us who purchased 360 version can "upgrade" to X1, but i'm not holding my breath..

With all that juicy RAM it'd be nice if the X1 version supported community-made HD texture packs.

Eventually mojang is going to have to standardize on something. Java is starting to required signed applications / applets, and the day they start signing addons/textures/skin packs as well is the day they should think of a way of making it universal so it would work on any "minecraft" binary.

I *hope* the 360 texture packs / addons would be portable too but i'm once again, not holding my breathe on that. I would love to be surprised though.

Any known or rumored exclusives for the X1 version like their was for the 360? I'd love to see cross platform play between X1 and PC but I know that will never happen! There would be more of a chance of 4J releasing a Windows 8 Modern App version that would be X1 compatible. That would rock!

Day 1 for me.  I'm more interested in the mods being ported over... I'd pay for Hexxic, Galacticraft and Feed the Beast.  Still no release date right?

As much as I'd love mods, I don't think its ever going to happen. This big issue is that Minecraft on Xbox is C# based and all the mods are written for Java. On top of that, it creates a supportability nightmare. On PC, Mojang basically says "Mod at your own risk" whereas on Xbox, 4j Studios would be totally responsible for making sure the mods ran properly and then dealt with customer complaints and such.

I do have limited hope for some of the major texture packs to make it though, like Sphax.
