Could Vin Diesel be playing a new version of CBS' famed NYPD Detective Theo Kojak?

Rumors emerged last year that Diesel was being linked to star in and produce a big screen reboot of the franchise that became actor Telly Savalas' most iconic character.

Now, a fan on his Facebook page asked him which director he wanted to work with soon. Diesel responded and essentially confirmed not only his involvement in the film but who may be helming:

"Kojak... New York.... Ang Lee"

This is the first time Lee's name has been linked at all with the project, and it certainly isn't a confirmation in any way. Nevertheless, it is an intriguing choice.

Regular Bond film series scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are penning the script for "Kojak". Diesel is currently shooting the seventh "Fast and Furious" film.

And he's also rumored (it's pretty much a done deal) to be starring in another xXx movie. Probably they'll leave out any reference to the 2nd one.

It's a role he might actually do well at. At least he'll look the part.
