ultimate99
I've been questioning whether it's safe to do online banking/shopping with only the built in MSE/Defender? Specially for any site that requires passwords, invoices, statements, etc...
0 bikeman25
Curious about this topic as well, will be interested in seeing the thoughts on this one as it gets close to the Christmas shopping season
0 Hum
I saw on TV that it is best to use a small laptop, that is ONLY for banking, on-line purchases. No surfing, downloads, e-mail, etc. Don't know if this would help or not. I do know that it is best to remove your Payment method, after you make a purchase from a website. Do not leave it stored there.
0 protocol7
One option would be to use a live cd of some kind if you want to be extra careful.
0 sc302 Veteran Posted November 28, 2013 Veteran Share Posted November 28, 2013 You want the ultimate protection. Get another computer or use a vm for doing your dirty deeds and leave your host os for online banking. Throw sandboxie on that and you are good to go. Or just browse everything with sandboxie on it. Should be pretty darn safe with that alone. DConnell and COKid 2 Share
0 Neyht Member Posted November 28, 2013 Member Share Posted November 28, 2013 I'm able to set up temporary cards for use on online purchases. I'm able to setup how many months they are good for and how much money I can spend on them. They are also locked to one merchant per card number. There isn't a site out there that actually has my credit card number aside from my bank. I'm more worried that a retail store/gas station may get hacked. jerzdawg 1 Share

This, most major credit cards offer temporary card numbers that can only be used once or like mentioned above setup for recurring.
0 Nashy
I don't worry about this ######. If I get burned, my bank protects me. If it's on credit, Visa and MasterCard both protect the consumer. T3X4S 1 Share
