Visual land 9" connect tablet. (stats above)

Question is, can I feasibly upgrade past 4.1 jelly bean or am I at the mercy of the company on offering a newer version?

Thanks. Not a bad purchase at walmart for $69 bucks.

Added: I bought this to carry around easier than a larger surface or ipad tablets yet have the features of HD video, MP3 player and so forth. it will fit my needs perfectly.

don't think you can get CM on that tablet; chinese dubious tablets like these are only upgraded to a newer ROM if the company releases them, so no luck.

I appreciate that. I'm getting in contact with the company to see what is possible. I like these ARM processors. I read they are based on RISC architecture. they are getting more powerful.

While some of these companies are shady, others are very responsive and release ROMs from time to time; I've bought an HDMI Android TV and the company upgraded it from 4.0 to 4.2 in no time, so who knows? Maybe you get lucky :D

Good luck :)

Don't count on it. Unless you're buying a Nexus tablet, there's absolutely no guarantee that the manufacturer is going to release updates. Custom ROMs on these low-end, cheap tablets are hard to come by, as well.
