sure the framerate isn't perfect,or the story isn't the greatest, but I like the environments, the highways, the chases, the SPs and upgrades. its just a really good game in my opinion. maybe guys like totalbiscuit get off on framerates,and resolution instead of enjoying the game, but I know that I am having a real good time with it.

So then yes, we have wildly different standards of what makes a good game. Totalbiscuit spoke about other things aswell, namely the god-damn overuse of cutscenes, dumbing down of gameplay and horrible, just absolutely horrible physics, AI. TotalBiscuit is as credible of a game reviewer as one can get, to call him out on NFS is just plain dumb. Sure disagree with him, but as a whole this isn't a worthwhile spending of money, better games could be had. EA has a rep now, and its pretty well known if you are an informed gamer

 

@ Morgan - a reputation of a  publisher makes all the difference. I guess you like being shafted by EA? NFS is something they are gonna try and milk as hard as they can. What and no one should call them out on that? The last few NFS games were pure garbage. Period. Look at Valve, their rep and history make all the diff. Brand Association to quality is where it's at. Not so much for EA.

All that you say about EA may be true. I'm not debating that. But NFS: Rivals PC is great as far as my experience goes. Origin sucks, they've sucked before and probably will in the future, but I think Rivals PC is great!

 

And if Frostbite 3 can deliver the performance a graphical splendor to Battlefront with the gameplay of Battlefront's of old, I'll be happier than a pig in slop. :D I'm really looking forward to that. I'm also hoping id Tech 5 can deliver BF4 performance and visuals for Wolfenstein: New Order!

Played some more last night.. At points, it's REALLY bad.. The crashing bug which will loop the crash over and over or just show your car and the camera won't move for a few seconds.. 

 

Also, when you leave an event, the position numbers don't always go away..When I had to cancel an event, the place numbers over the cars are still there..

 

Also, I had my Heat level jump from 4 to 7 out of nowhere..

 

Seen two cops that did not join the pursuit when I was "escaping", but after the escape, they started chasing me.. Seems like horrible coding..

Finally finished the Racer story.. Even though I finished the story.. Sometimes after I complete an event, it will do to the chapter 9 cut scene.. lol.. Also, it will sometimes show that I have completed the last event and sometimes it won't be checked.. lol.. I really hope they get their ###### together for the next game!

Works great, looks beautiful.  Story is kinda wack but wouldn't expect much else for a racing game.  Never had to rewatch any videos, unlike TB, so wondered if he even got past the tutorials before quitting the game.

Not too many people play racing games for a story that I've noticed.  I loved it in The Run but haven't really seen impressive story bits in another one that I recall.

I've experienced quite a few of these issues playing my way through the game so far.  The car crash is the most frustrating, where upon crashing at times you'll instantly spawn and it'll 'crash' the car again despite being on the road (you never gain control during this time either, it's all cut scenes).  I haven't noticed any dips in frame rate (well nothing drastic) but I have noticed the random GPS checkpoints being selected. At first I thought it might've been because I was accidentally hitting down on the dpad to start one of those autolog recommendations.  It's happened enough now that I know it's not that but still have no idea why it's selecting these locations.

 

One thing I'd like changed/improved would be the GPS system. I really wish that it'd automatically select the nearest repair shop if you're driving around and you actually get closer to a different one than you had originally selected.  Sometimes I get chased by the cops and I'll make an unexpected turn where i wish the GPS would update as well - real car GPS systems do, why can't games?

That one did start popping up for me, bizarre.

 

The only thing that actually bugs me about the game is when people start messing with you on Overwatch.  What a stupid feature.

The girlfriend found out that GAME were selling it for ?24.99 and snapped up two copies, hoping to fire it up later for MP with her.

It isn't unplayable by any means.. Hopefully, there won't be any issues with the xbox version..

Well I just finished a MP session with the girlfriend and the annoying glitches were the car crashing/respawn and cops randomly starting pursuits for no reason but the major glitch was my girlfriend couldn't see my car right in-front of her despite being routed via GPS and being shown on the map :| :s

 

Once were had restarted the game and one invited the other, this was fixed. Hopefully a patch is in the works for these bugs.

 

Love the shockwave pursuit tech (the sound it makes in a tunnel is amazing) and the handling/car physics is on par with "Hot Pursuit". Overall, quite satisfying and much better than "Most Wanted" (Y)

Well this is the best glitch I've seen on my end, seems like I was transported to another world (Xen from Half-Life was my first thought) with my wheels spinning at 52 MPH on the spot :blink: :rofl:

 

 

Then the girlfriend drove up beside me (everything was OK on her end), to see if she could nudge me from this spot ....

 

 

And I guess not :laugh:

 

 

Oh this needs to be patched badly, glad I didn't spend ?50 on this ....
