Dying Light Dev Targeting 1080p/60fps On PS4 & Xbox One, Talks Current & Next Gen Differences

http://gamingbolt.com/dying-light-dev-targeting-1080p60fps-on-ps4-xbox-one-talks-current-next-gen-differences

We spoke to tech director Jakub Klarowicz about whether both the Xbox One and PS4 versions would run at 1080p and 60 FPS. He stated that, ?It?s too early to tell. We aim to have the final game running at 1080p, 60 fps on both PS4 and Xbox One, and it seems that we will be able to achieve this. Obviously, we?re still working on the game itself and its optimization, but we aim to provide that kind of experience when the game launches.?

Its truly pathetic that these next gen, 8 core processor consoles have some launch titles running below 1080p. Just to point out Gran Turismo 4 can run in 1080i on my ps2 which is a 12 year old console

1080p or 4k, game looks meh.

but but but... mirror's edge AND dead island and ZOMBIES!! :shifty:

It looks like a game with very static props and interaction. Guess they are going with a linear atmosphere to keep it interesting.

broken record much?  what does your post have to do with this thread.  PS4 is running 1080p and xbox 1 is not confirmed yet...'

maybe you missed this part "We aim to have the final game running at 1080p, 60 fps on both PS4 and Xbox One, and it seems that we will be able to achieve this"

Your confusing native resolution with the output of your console.

GT4's native resolution is 632x448. The game did support 1080i output, but that's not the same. If you applied that to today, then every single game released for both next gen cosnoles is running at 1080p.

Whenever you hear people bring up the resolution of these new games, its in reference to the native resolution, before anything is up-scaled for output at 1080p.

The big but is, these are 8 core processer consoles, I assumed all games would be playing in native 1080p from the start.

You do realize that these processors are equal to 8-core netbook processors.  not a desktop processor.

I could see if these were Intel Core i3 desktop processors... but they are not...

The PS4 and One do processors/gpu do not equal "Crysis 3 running in "SUPER ULTRA, THE BEAUTY IS BURNING MY EYES" resolution.

Good looking games?  Sure...

Dang you buy a console for convenience and good gameplay.  If you are a graphics ###### get a damn PC and stfu.

This, for the most part. You can't expect a $400-500 console to have graphics anywhere near as good as a PC when a top of the line video card costs that much alone. Unless you're going to pay $1500 for a console, PC will always be king for graphics. Not that I expect a console's graphics to be bad though. Honestly I'd probably be just as happy with smooth 60 fps 720p games as compared to 1080p.

Why do they make games that should be 3rd person 1st person? No way I am playing that thing, makes me sea sick just watching the demo.

That was my thought as well. That this should have been a third person title but maybe when i try it it is not so bad as it looks.

Isn't this supposed to be a parkour game?  I think they're trying to emulate Mirror's Edge which had a 1st person view and worked pretty well (IMO).
