I have it up and running. It's pretty nice. You can see posts made from the 3DS on the web based version of Miiverse, but the communities for the 3DS games are not live yet.

Still really wish Nintendo would get out of the stone ages with their Nintendo Network ID restrictions.  Long story short, I made a NNID a year ago on a friend's Wii U not knowing it was going to be stuck on that system.  So I have updated my 3DS but don't want to enter that NNID info since if/when I do get a Wii U of my own I'd have to use a different name or something.  Yes, I could just make a new name but then I also have to associate it with a completely different email address.  Soooo annoyingly dumb.  Why can't Nintendo just get with the times and have NNID work like an XBL gamertag or PSN account or Steam account that I can log in with on any system out there?

Love this update, one step closer to a coherent online system (Y)

Still on the wish list:

Account options, i.e ID changes

Cross-buy ala PS Vita/PS3+4

Friend options in 3DS Miiverse

System transfer without access to the hardware

Unified friend list

eShop Affected by Problems After 3DS Miiverse Firmware Update

A number of users are reporting that the eShop service for the 3Ds handheld is being affected by problems since Nintendo delivered a new firmware update for the device earlier during the day.

The most reported error code is 011-3051 and those who experience it are unable to access the shop and update their content, according to Game Informer.

Nintendo has not yet offered an official response about the error and about the steps it is taking to make sure that affected users see it solved.

The new firmware update for the 3DS added the Miiverse service and delivers a number of improvements to the core performance.

The company has been trying to create a unified system for both its handheld and the Wii U home console in order to promote the idea that the two devices are complementing each other in terms of the experience they are offering.

Apparently they broke the eShop functionality with the new update. :s

According to the site, it shouldn't be working: (Although I guess it might be network based rather than firmware)

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/network/en_na/network_status.jsp

Due to a high amount of online traffic, network services may be intermittently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

Start Date and Time of Outage:

Tuesday, December 10, 2013 1:09 AM Pacific Time

Ongoing

So heavy loads but working.

Anyone having trouble linking their Club Nintendo account to their new Nintendo Network ID on 3DS.

I know i am getting the right email/password as i logged in with it on the PC.

The only problem i can see why it isn't working is because mine is a european account. I didn't even realise till today that they do that.

I wonder if it is an oversight by Nintendo that will be sorted soon.

I'm not even sure I had to re-link mine. It's still in the settings on the eShop.

When you go into the eShop after creating the Nintendo ID. I was prompted to link my club nintendo account to my ID. So it can transfer my purchase history and other benefits.

Go into the eShop settings and check the club nintendo button to see if it is linked.

Since i seem to see this more often on the 3ds version of miiverse i'll ask this here.. Does the activity feed frequently load posts either from only one person, or from no one at all for anyone else?
