Skype: You are currently restricted from purchasing services or redeeming vouchers.

For some unknown reason I can't call or purchased services or redeem vouchers on Skype. Skype support keeps having me fill out there Identity form. I even have my Microsoft Account linked from the first day the Linking feature was added. I think the problem is, I had this Skype account around the day Skype went in to business. Every time I fill out their form I get an email with them saying that they can't help me because they can't identify me and they tell me to fill out the same form to identify myself. I'm like WTF, this is the 10th time I filled out their form. I even volunteered to show up at their door step with my State ID, Passport and SSN...lol. I really think that because I had my Skype account for so long that they really don't have enough info on their end to allow me to prove my identity. Or possibly their info is incorrect. Anyone else have this issue?

I haven't encountered this particular issue, but for the past several months Skype no longer emails me (or emails me days later) when I have a new voicemail. Their tech support should be able to help you though.

  • 1 month later...

It took me 2 months fighting with them. When I almost gave up, I changed my strategy by asking them to unlink my Microsoft account. after they did that, I manipulated them and told then that "Since you have enough information about me, enough to unlink my account, Can you tell me what happened to my Skype account, and can you take off the "Block" that is on my account". They did...hehe. :-)

Very Clever,  now we all know what to do if we encounter this issue (y)
