Repairing bootmgr using USB stick?

I dual booted Linux over the summer and was just wondering if it's possible from that? I don't have my Win 7 cd as I lent it to my friend and haven't went and gotten it bc he's been busy working spending time with family.

My advice depends on what the exact problem is but if you need to repair the boot manager then you could download the Windows 8 evaluation iso from MS, copy it to a USB and then hit shift+F10 at the Windows setup screen and run the following 

 

bootrec /fixmbr

bootrec /scanos

bootrec /rebuildbcd
