Brandon Live Veteran Posted December 14, 2013 Veteran Share Posted December 14, 2013 My latest project shipped its first release this morning! It's a new Twitter client for Windows 8.1 (and RT) called Tweetium. It's already been featured on a few sites like WinBeta, but I thought I'd post it here in case anyone wanted to check it out :-) You can see a bit more about the app at the Tweetium website, or go straight to the Windows Store page here. Richard Hay also put up a nice video tour over at Windows Observer. If you're a Twitter user on Windows 8/RT and disappointed with the other options (including the official app) as I was, I hope you'll check it out! And this is just v1.0, so all feedback is very welcome! There are many themes, too (including some for gradient loves and haters alike!). This one is just the default. goretsky 1 Share

Brandon Live Veteran Posted January 22, 2014 Author Veteran Share Posted January 22, 2014 Just a heads-up that Tweetium has received several updates and some glowing reviews! Back on the 10th it was reviewed by James Kendrick over at ZDNet who said "Tweetium is one of the best Twitter apps on any mobile platform." Then yesterday I released version 1.5, which adds an additional "Pro" option supporting multiple accounts (and soon some additional features like TweetMarker) for a small semi-annual fee. Windows IT Pro did a review of that release here: Tweetium 1.5 released and it's close to perfect. Okay, that's my shameless self-promotion for the day. But I do hope some folks here will check it out and let me know what you think! :-)
Dot Matrix
Wow. Such Tweet. I'll have to take a closer look at this when I get home tonight!

Grinch
Do you have any intention on adding a free version or try option? $2.99 for the core application without any pro features (including multi-account support) and another $4.99 every six months for pro features to me, as someone who can't even try it out without purchasing it, seems like a money-milking application. :(
Ryster
Yeah for something I would be potentially using every day, I'd at least want to be able to try it out before buying it. While inexpensive in the grand scheme of things, I wouldn't want to pay then find after a few days that I didn't like using it much. That said, it does LOOK nice from the screenshot. p.s. Anybody know Windows 8/8.1 coding that would fancy making me a very simple app that pulled an RSS feed from my website and displayed it? I wrote a simple app for Windows Phone 8.1 using the online app developer thing, but have no clue when it comes to Windows 8. Here's a link to my WP8 app that the W8 app would need to mirror: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-gb/store/app/hlc-news/cf951f07-8b18-4912-af6f-390a1551f3c1?signin=true
Brandon Live Veteran Posted January 26, 2014 Author Veteran Share Posted January 26, 2014 Do you have any intention on adding a free version or try option? $2.99 for the core application without any pro features (including multi-account support) and another $4.99 every six months for pro features to me, as someone who can't even try it out without purchasing it, seems like a money-milking application. :( The app has many "pro" features without the added purchase. But since Twitter limits the number of users an app can ever have, supporting multiple accounts always incurs an extra charge. For the majority who only use one account, the current price is far less than abandoned competitors like Tweetro+. The recurring fee will allow support for features with ongoing costs for me, like TweetMarker and push notifications. And should help keep the app alive and supported even after the user limit is reached. Certainly not "money-milking" - indeed the main point of having the single reasonably priced Pro option was to avoid any sense of nickel and diming (i.e. if each of those features were a separate charge as some suggested). I did enable a 1-day trial mode yesterday. So give it a shot and let me know what you think!
Dot Matrix
Looking good! Is there no live tile support yet?
Dot Matrix
Gave the trial a go, and I liked it, so I went and purchased the app! Nice job, Brandon.
Brandon Live Veteran Posted March 2, 2014 Author Veteran Share Posted March 2, 2014 Thanks! There have been a lot of updates since then, including the 2.0 release (and now 2.1). Among a lot of other features, 2.0 brought a new default theme: There's also now TweetMarker support for users who buy the additional Pro purchase (which also includes multiple account support, and as of 2.1, some cool news reading integration). If you haven't checked it out yet, now is as good a time as any :-)
