Jase
I would like to hear what you guys think are the best gaming keyboards. Try include images and urls to your suggestions. I'm thinking of getting the Razer DeathStalker Gaming Keyboard.. But sadly it won't go with my blue LED setup.
The Evil Overlord
I'll put a vote in for the good old, trusty Logitech g19 The colourscheme isn't a problem as you can change the colour using sliders Note, it's a membrane keyboard, not mechanical I'm terrible at reviewing, but will be happy to answer any questions you might have that I can answer I'm sure there are other users here who also use it
SecretAgentMan
The Corsair K70 Mechanical Keyboard might do what you need and it has blue lit keys which would work with your setup. I don't own one yet but hope to soon once I decide on the color and keys I want. There is also a K70 with a gunmetal finish and keys with the blue lighting. +Mirumir 1 Share
riahc3
Hello, Recommending mechanical keyboards for gaming? Jase, really go with the keyboard you most like.....There is no such thing as a gaming keyboard: The best you can find is keyboards with macro keys that can do a combination of keypresses at the same time or as fast as possible. Besides that.... That G19 recommended as you can see has 12 macro keys. Thats really the only thing useful. Jase 1 Share
Jase
Mechanical or membrane type keyboards will be fine, I've been looking at the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium mechanical gaming keyboard: http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4179#ov But so far I'm really digging this & it's leaning towards the Corsair Vengeance K95 Mechanical Keyboard: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=113_1276&products_id=23892 That G19 looks awesome! Keep the suggestions coming!
Slammers
If your going to spend extra for a "gaming" keyboard then you should definitely go mechanical. Otherwise you can just get any half decent standard keyboard. If you want/need macro keys is up to you. Most gaming keyboards will do the job, but when you think about it you may be on this keyboard for hours a day, for years. So why not get mechanical knowing that the keys will press better, more consistently and last longer. The difference between red or black switches compared to an old school membrane keyboard is big, and is easily noticeable. Then there's also the blues which allot of people love for the feel. If you want to go razer get one of the blackwidows. That corsair above is really nice and no frills ######. Personally Ive never needed macro keys (I have them but never use them) If a game has a decent interface I don't see why you would ever need them. I guess if you play MMORPG's they would be handy. +shift. MVC Posted December 15, 2013 MVC Share Posted December 15, 2013 Mechanical keyboards due to comfort and/or if you acutally need N-key rollover. Most gaming keyboards (non-mechanical) have anti ghosting. If there's a store like Best Buy that actually has keyboards on display it's worthwhile to test them out (especailly if mechanical) to gauge comfort for yourself. +Mirumir Subscriber¹ Posted December 16, 2013 Subscriber¹ Share Posted December 16, 2013 Best gaming keyboard? It's the one that helps YOU win the games. All the other considerations are secondary. I personally don't like the extra keys on the left side so I've purchased a black Vengeance K70 with the red switches and I love it! Anibal P
I went with a very basic SteelSeries 6Gv2, no extra keys or fluff, no LEDs, was considering one with them but realized I never play in the dark so pointless Works great for me and was relatively cheap

I wanted one, but these are apparently plagued with LED backlight failures. There is no keyboard that fits what I'm looking for: Cherry Mx Brown or Clear, media keys, red or green backlight (blue is strain on eyes). I think closest is Ducky Shine

philcruicks
Logitech G19s hands down winner for non-mech keyboard, G510s is a good substitute if you don't want to shell out too much cash (just got one at Christmas and I love it). Not sure who makes the best mech kleyboards, but if its got cherry switches it'll be good, Logitech G710 should be good if the 19 and 510 are though. Odom Member Posted January 20, 2014 Member Share Posted January 20, 2014 Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 Works for me :D I used to have the G19 series Keyboards, but then hardly ever used the Macro keys nor the built in display. That, and the fact that the keyboard is larger than usual made me change to the Solar one. Being wireless is also nice, as I have my TV hooked up to my computer, so that I can watch movies on it. With the K750 I can browse and open movies from the couch.
Skiver Veteran Posted January 20, 2014 Veteran Share Posted January 20, 2014 That G19 recommended as you can see has 12 macro keys. Thats really the only thing useful. Technically it has 36, there are three buttons at the top M1, M2 and M3... each macro key can have 3 macro's thanks to those buttons. I have the original G15 - have to admit I never really found a use for Macro keys but as a keyboard it is still going strong after 7 or 8 years. +Anarkii Subscriber² Posted January 20, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted January 20, 2014 This. Razor Deathstalker. Its not a mechanical keyboard, but that shouldn't distract from just how good this is. Its REALLY quiet and fast, and the custom screen on the right can be configured to show anything, from Facebook feed, to music player, to in-game stats (think WoW) or pretty much anything else. Has its own 'gaming mode' too which is great. :)

If you use Teamspeak or similar applications, there is an addin for it. You can then see on the display who joins the chatroom, who is talking, you can mute, etc... Many games also display information on the LCD. I also enjoyed the backlit keyboard and the fact that you can change it to any colour you want. Meanwhile I don't play those games anymore, hardly any, and the keyboard was too big for me. But my parents still use it for WoW and my mom does her own macros and scripts, she uses pretty mych all the Macro keys. She absolutely loves that keyboard. Yeh, if you have your own TS server you can even admin it from the game panel, not need to drop out of game which is really nice.

Boo Berry
I'm currently using a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2013. I do recommend it for gaming however to be honest, I find myself considering getting a Ducky Shine 3 to replace it at some point. +Mirumir 1 Share
