Live document typing to several devices?

Question

I'm looking for a software that could be installed to a laptop, where the listener types what is being said at a conference, and then this shows up live word by word as it is being typed to portable Android devices for deaf users. It has to be cross-platform - Windows and Android so far.

I don't know what to look for, LAN messengers are no good as this requires having to press enter to send, thus it would start to lag behind and no corrections to words can be made.

It has to be LAN only, no internet access. A wireless router can be set up so that the android tablets and the Windows laptop can connect to it.

A web-based solution could also work if anybody knows of any, this should make it easier as browsers on any platform could connect to the laptop's web server to read the incoming text.

Thanks :)

Google Drive (formely known as Google Documents) is what you are looking for.

No installation is necessary.

You just go in there, create a text document or a spreadsheet, and share it with people you want. It's all live.

Google drive is not lan only, one of his requirements in the op. I edited that out in my first post.

Crap. My bad.

In this case, yes, sharepoint is the way to go, although it only works with IE as far as I know, so no android support.

Wikipedia says:

Web browser support[edit]

Supported web browsers:[36]

So it may work with Chrome on Android.

I guess it comes down to the way it's been set up. In my company, it only works in IE. It could also be a new feature in SharePoint 2013 that I've missed so props to MS for supporting it!

No internet?? That sucks - perfect solution I would think would be something like http://skreen.me/ Completely cross platform easy to use.

Another option that comes to mind is something like teamviewer lan mode

http://www.teamviewer.com/en/help/40-Can-TeamViewer-be-used-within-a-local-network-LAN-only.aspx

or VNC also has a way to present your screen to multiple people. Fire up some any text editor and start typing away and everyone connected will see what person is typing.

The screen.me seems like perfect solution if had internet access.
