The_Observer
Hey guys, was givin a Hp proliant DL365 G1 Machine. In there are 2x AMD opteron 2218 cpu's at 2.6Ghz (dual core each), would like this for a hyper-v lab test machines (MS Exams), so i thought about upgrading to 2X opteron 2356 Quad Core 2.3GHz, is it possible, can i use the same cooling or do i need to buy something special. Mindovermaster Moderator Posted December 17, 2013 Moderator Share Posted December 17, 2013 I'm not 100% sure, but going by HP's site, these are the processors it is compatible with: AMD Opteron? Processor 2222 (3.0 GHz, 95 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2220 (2.8 GHz, 95 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2218 (2.6 GHz, 95 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2218 HE (2.6 GHz, 68 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2216 (2.4 GHz, 95 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2216 HE (2.4 GHz, 68 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2214 HE (2.2 GHz, 68 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2210 (1.8 GHz, 95 Watts); AMD Opteron? Processor 2210 HE (1.8 GHz, 68 Watts) I'm not sure if that is what it can only take, or what its range is. My 2 cents.
