"windows tell this wireless card is not compatibility with win 8.1 yet !! "

Well then why did you upgrade to 8? At a loss?

Your Solution = Go back to windows 7, where your card is supported. Get another card that is supported under windows 8(8.1)

That is a REALLY OLD card anyway.. How about something like this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704031

TP-LINK TL-WN951N Wireless N300 Advanced PCI Adapter, 300Mbps, w/WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP/WPA/WPA2

300Mbps Advanced PCI Adapter

Better performance with three antennas

Stronger signal with MIMO technology

Advanced Security-WPA / WPA2

Plug & Play for Windows 8

Here is a little bit cheaper one, also windows 8 support

TP-LINK TL-WN751ND Wireless N150 PCI Adapter, 150Mbps, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Hello,

Like Budman said, not only is that card not compatible with Windows 8.1, but 3Com doesnt exist anymore so I doubt you will get a driver update that works.

Im actually having a hard time finding any decent PCI wireless card. USB a option?

Its a Desktop - why is Wire not an option? ;) Both of the cards I linked to got decent reviews.. I would think either of those should work riahc3?

Good chance that the Windows 7 driver just work on Windows 8.1, I've got here a Windows Vista, 7 and 8 machine, and all they are now all running Windows 8.1 with their original drivers and work great!

Its a POS card from like 2005, even if the windows 7 driver works.. It is G only, OP - is your wireless network only G? If so then sure you could try that, curious why the upgrade process just didn't keep the driver that was working then?

The whole desktop is prob due for replacement, Think 755 was circa 2008 if not mistaken.. Even with some updates its got to be horrific on 8 I would think..

Maybe he got one of the last ones off the line or something with a bit more umph? Maybe its just me, 3 years is about the life of a PC at most, even with upgrades along way. I bought myself some time on my old dell XPS 8300 (2011) with SSD, bumped to 12GB and newer graphics, usb 3 card. Not all at once, memory was first, then say 6+ months ago graphics HD 7700 with 2GB, on the cheap $100 and most recent the SSD, prices have dropped and the 840 Pro's were just getting all kinds of great write ups.. The SSD was the biggest improvement - should get me through 2014 I would think. Just couple weeks ago got a usb 3 card for it.. It was like watching paint dry moving anything via usb..

5 year old box I am guessing - its about time for update I think! Did you ask Santa? ;)

Hello,

TP-LINK TL-WN951N Wireless N300 Advanced PCI Adapter, 300Mbps, w/WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP/WPA/WPA2

TP-LINK TL-WN951N V3 has drivers released on 6/20/2013 compatible with Windows 8 (note, not Windows 8.1, there have been a couple of hardware that are compatible with 8 but not 8.1. You should be OK though)

TP-LINK TL-WN751ND Wireless N150 PCI Adapter, 150Mbps, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

On the TP-LINK site, there are no drivers for this card for Windows 8/8.1 Last driver download was released on 11/22/2012

Id go for a USB 802.11n adapter IMO...
