2014 BMW 2-Series Active Tourer caught undisguised

Formerly known as the 1-Series GT, the 2014 BMW 2-Series Active Tourer has been spied without any camouflage during a video shooting.

Back in September 2012 we saw in Paris the BMW Active Tourer concept which served as a preview for this car, the 2-Series Active Tourer. It will be the first front-wheel model in BMW's lineup and will be launched in 2014 not only as a five-seater but also with a seven-seat layout. The design of the car clearly echoes the concept and should make it a worthy adversary for the Mercedes-Benz B-Class.

Riding on the front-wheel drive UKL platform, the 2-Series Active Tourer will reportedly get 3-cylinder, 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo gasoline and diesel engines also available in the new MINI. The gasoline engines have outputs ranging from 122 HP (90 kW) to 224 HP (165 kW), while the diesels start at 82 HP (60 kW) and reach 184 HP (135 kW).

Chances are BMW plans to show the 2-Series Active Tourer next March at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Eh, it looks kinda odd, especially from the side profile to the back. I would rather have the 3 series wagon or even 3 GT (even though not the prettiest car).
