He still took someone's life and he's getting praised for it. Sick world we live in.

It's definitely not the case with GZ but theres definitely people I'd praise that have taken someones life. Legit self defense etc.

Okay. Lets see you do it.

Art is down to personal taste just like everything else in the world. You don't like it and that's fine but that doesn't mean some one out there won't genuinely like it.

Its more the fraudulent worth being attached to it that annoys me. There are tonnes of great artists out there painting to a much higher level and not riding on the back of media notoriety for various crimes. Im v.aware of how subjective art can be. But considering you could buy something locally and or commission it for around a tenth of the price and not be giving some douche money he doesnt deserve`s, well that speaks volumes to me.

If he`s in it just to sell his Art then why not use a pseudo name?

Sadly I dont paint anymore, rather just pen and pencil these days. That and a love of pixel art. Click my sig if you like. Did A LOT of watercolor in school and pretty much sickened myself of that for life!!

The Q&A is just full of LOLz!

The price it is at now has well exceeded my $.99 minimum; therefore, whoever wins within the Continental United States, will receive this painting delivered by me personally. Your friend,

George Zimmerman is coming to my house! Oh, joy!

Q: george, pleasee dont leave florida . you are our hero. please run for a political office! we need you. God bless you.
A: Thank you, your words of kindness and support will influence my decision on where to plant my roots. Your friend, GZ

Bwahahaha!

Q: A true winner is someone that figures out how to make lemmon aide from lemmons. I contributed to your legal defense fund. I am truly sorry our government run liberal media and justice department persecuted you they way they did.
A: God Bless you. You have nothing to apologize to me for. The system is broken, an innocent man should not spend one second without his God given liberty, solely because a small sect of uneducated loud mouths. We must fix it. If we can't fix it together, then we owe many people a sincere apology. Your Friend,

The guy doesn't realize the irony of those words.

I wonder when the US will remove the "under god" addition and revert back to the original.

After all, the communist threat to the United States is not what it once was....

Those words WERE removd from severals schools around here a few years, but THANKFULLY, they've been restored to be said how it SHOULD be said, at least as of 1954, which is 4 years before my time even! :)

Personally,

That painting ISN'T worth the .99 cents he wanted originally!

How is it fraudulent? He set the original price at .99 cents. If people are willing to pay obscene amounts of money for it that's their problem.

Do all of the art critics in this thread have similar views on Picasso during his Blue Period 100 years ago ?

If a contemporary artist who was highly regarded painted the exact same image as Zimmerman would the views expressed be the same or would they be different ? If different, why ? Art is subjective, and this is the problem I have with it - two different people could produce near enough the same output and one is a master of their craft and another is told "must try harder".

Is it the supposed irony in the image which has you all het up and the fact that Zimmerman was involved in a controversial case and was found not guilty ?

I feel the same. However, if someone is crazy enough to give him $100,000 for it, he'd be even crazier not to take it.

We all know the people bidding on this are not bidding for the artistic value of the work. They are bidding to support him. Trying to pretend otherwise is being totally delusional imo.

Looking at this, I may consider asking some kindergarten and primary school students to do some paintings for me, and see if I too can make a couple of grand by selling them on eBay.

Zimmerman, that ain't art - that's a high school project.

Regardless of how you view how that trial came across I'm surprised he has the guts to sell something that says "Liberty for all" when clearly a lot of people feel he was allowed to walk away from murder. Seems like a stab in the face trying to stir up anger to me.

It's a good thing Zimmerman likes authority and justice so much. He sure gets his fill of both ;)

In the same vein, Rob Ford has also made a painting devoted to exactly what he loves but can't handle in life...

He's just pandering to the knuckle draggers... I'm surprised he didn't use a confederate flag :)

A trend perhaps amongst the infamous, become an artist.

Art critic: George Zimmerman?s painting is ?a bit psychotic? but he?s no John Wayne Gacy - http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/12/18/art-critic-george-zimmermans-painting-is-a-bit-psychotic-but-hes-no-john-wayne-gacy/

I thought this was especially relevant :)

?First of all, I wouldn?t even call this a work of art,? Saltz said. ?It?s a travesty, a placard, a poster, something you might see in protest.? He also said that he sees in the work a ?confession? of sorts.

?It?s talking about liberty, justice for all,? he said. ?Well, you know, it?s almost like none of this ever happened. And then also, you have this is his funny little ? he?s almost trying to be a cause. And the cause is that I think he is is a travesty of justice, a crime. It?s insipid, it?s not ? there?s no thought in it. It?s needing to be the center of attention. I think it?s a bit psychotic.?

?To me,? Saltz concluded, ?what he made was a simpleton, quasi-psychotic painting, in my opinion.?
