Largest Ultrabook (or Similar Laptop) by Screen Size

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a 17" Windows 8 Ultrabook with a touchscreen, but I can't seem to find any.  The closest laptop I can find is the Samsung Series 9 15-inch, but of course, the screen is too small, and it does not have a touchscreen.  I don't require a true Ultrabook since I wouldn't mind having an optical drive, but I do want a premium, unusually thin laptop.  Could anyone make a recommendation?  Thank you.

I don't think you are going to find many options for a thin touchscreen that is 17"... those are kind of conflicting requirements. Maybe someone can wizard something up, but at the moment I am doubting it :-)

Finding an ultrabook that has a 17 inch screen is going to be tough. The largest ultrabook size I know that's on the market is a 15-incher.

A thin 17" touchscreen laptop? Doesn't exist. It's hard to make something that doesn't flex all over the place at that size.

Also, the benefit of thin 13" laptops is that they're not much bigger than a regular sheet of paper and fit in bags easily thanks to their thinness. A 17" laptop will never be really 'portable', what does it matter if it's not superthin?

You're certain no thin 17" touchscreen laptops exist?  What about non-thin 17" touchscreen laptops?

You normally won't go above 15.4 for your specs. Why exactly do you need this?

Because I am replacing an old 17" laptop.
