Sony Entertainment Australia commits to fixing PS4 back order.

"The thing that has been hampering sales however is the fact that it is near impossible to pick one up, with retailers reporting that the delay could be several months long if you didn?t put a pre-order down months in advanced"

To those in Aus wanting to get a PS4, Sony Entertainment Australia is working on making sure you don't need to wait months after a pre-order to get one at the start of 2014.

I have noticed a lot of brochures/junk mail don't even have advertisements for the PS4 but 1/2 page spreads for the Xboxs One.

Maybe that is the reason why X1 is outselling PS4s here.

I've noticed that too, heaps of Xbox one ads. I think they have lots of ads and 1/2 page spreads because they are trying to sell the Xbox ones here, the ps4 is already in huge demand so no need to advertise. Would be pointless to advertise the ps4 at this stage cause if any new customers decided to get one due to the ads they'd be waiting awhile.

JB and Harvey Norman aren't going to advertise what they don't have. March is the expected ship date? While tens of thousands of xbox ones keep walking out the doors for families for christmas. Our local dealers just sold out of xbox ones, and a quick search of major online sellers says so as well. JB says restock before christmas but.

Major retailers in Australia are EB Games, JB Hi Fi, Harvey Norman and DSE who stock the consoles. I just checked all there websites, all have X1 stock...

JB says shipment within 5 days if you order one now. :/

Anyhow this thread is in regards to PS4 stock, which at this stage is none existent in Australia. Please stop trying to derail the thread.

Well of course they would say they are committed to fixing the problem. That's all MS and Sony can do when this kind thing happens.

Its even worse for Sony since they are spread very thin. You can only build so many ps4 s at a time.

My friend decided to jump bandwagons for christmas so he's partner had something to get him. So please point me to where they are in stock so he can order one. I've been looking for 2 days. Rang every major chain. JB are the only ones confirming Microsoft are shipping more consoles out before christmas.

You brought up the amount of xbox one through advertising. Simple fact is Sony botched the Australian launch and didn't care enough about the market.

If your in Melbourne I can give you a few local retailers who have stock, inbox me and I'll give you the stores.

I'm going Christmas shopping again today so can even double check to make sure they have stock still.

I didn't bring up the Xbox advertising, I just replied to the post.

In Sydney sadly. Might be why stock levels are out in NSW but. Didn't know if it would be Australia wide.

Just an update on the PS4 stock issues, all current pre-orders will be filled by early January and also have some stock left over for people to go in store and pick up a PS4 off the shelves.

For those wanting to get one earlier, try eBay I just picked up one for RRP

(eBay tip, search Playstation 4 rather than PS4) - seems that most people don't and miss some PS4 auctions that don't have ps4 as a search word.
