Today in crime-related idiocy: After Larry Poulos held up the Educational Employees Credit Union in Arlington for more than $5,000, the robber became the robbed mere minutes after his own heist.

When the police found Poulos bleeding from the head in his apartment complex, he told them that he'd been attacked and robbed, carefully leaving out the fact that he'd stolen the money that had been swiped from him in the first place.

Suspicious, police questioned Poulos, who refused to answer questions about the credit union robbery and was taken into custody.

When the FBI questioned Poulos's roommate, he said that Poulos had mentioned earlier week that he "felt like robbing a bank," which the roommate assumed was in jest.

The kicker of the story is that the police were able to identify Poulos by the "I   TX" shirt he wore in the credit union's surveillance tape.
