Question

Posted

This has been driving me nuts for a while now. Whenever I get a notification stating a user replied to my comment on a news article and I click the notification, it just brings me to the article.

My request is that you bring us to the comment that we're being notified of instead of just the article. I tagged this as a bug and a request/suggestion as I'm not really sure if it is this way by design. Certainly hope not!

It already does this... Just click "comment" instead of the article title...

I must be missing something, since the notification doesn't have a hyperlink for 'comment'. :|

Sorry, I typed in haste. I meant "replied". The same is generally true for posts as it is "quoted" or something similar.

This is both by design, and user error.

See my post about that here: http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1182397-notifications-broken-redirection/

Basically, you need to click the word [replied] to be taken directly to the reply.

Oh, I see. I never noticed the "replied" part being a hyperlink, heh. Still seems strange to have two separate ones since they'd both end up to the article. Now I'll just have to be less lazy with my clicks!

I'll mark your post as the answer since you technically answered it, just used the wrong word. Thanks both of you though, now my frustration with it will be lessened. :p
