Adult Entertainment Companies on PS4?

So I just got the PS4 and have been testing it out, played some Warframe, Fifa14, Killzone (bundle pack) and Just Dance 2014.

 

I then went to Live from Playstation app (It just shows live streams of popular videos)

 

And the top video was titled 'Bang Bros Xmas Party' from what I gather its a live stream of Bang Bros Studios (Adult Entertainment Company) inside a living room where they get the 'actors' to go and play PS4 'The Playroom' in-front of the camera wearing skimpy clothing.

 

Second most popular live stream was Bree Olson playing BF4 For those who think the name sounds familiar she is not related to the Olson twins who are actors in family tv shows and movies. She is a different type of actor and pretty famous it seems.

 

Is this some kind of advertisement campaign? Has Adult Entertainment become part of mainstream culture especially after hearing the news about PornHub support for the PS4?

No advertising campaign, it's just human nature. There is nothing surprising about slightly adult content getting the top spot in that kind of list. It's not a question of even being "mainstream". The demographics that consume both kinds of product (consoles and pornography) overlap by quite a bit and if the content is easily accessible, people will click on it.

It's definitely for real.

They really need more filtering options for those of us that need or want to avoid that content when checking out live streams.

It will happen on the X1 as well, especially when twitch streaming launches in January.

In the end, its about giving users choice. The choice to avoid or view content as they wish. For a mainstream entertainment device like the ps4 or x1, you can't simply let it all bubble up to the top and flash in the user's face. You have to create the controls that allow the user to decide what they do or do not want to see.

They don't even show a nipple. It's hardly adult. They don't need filtering, just don't watch it if you don't like it. Or grow up.

Funny thing is, most people who would complain about this will happily play violent games and let there kids play them which is far worse than a bit of cleavage.

Oh come on...'Grow up'? That's not a very grown up way of handling this :laugh:

Filtering hurts no one and it is a simple tool for anyone that wants to make sure certain content is not viewed via the ps4.

For some reason people recoil at the thought of optional filters.

It seems whoever posts to that account is fast and loose with what they post, maybe not thinking completely.

lol, also in completely unrelated news I found out you earn an PS4 achievement when you watch for a set amount of time live stream videos.

 

Also its just PG rated, all they do is dance around and reply to people who write on their wall. Worst ive seen is the girls kissing each other or they do a bit of dry humping.

Why is it ok to shoot hundreds of dudes in the head but not ok to look at a beautiful naked woman? All for rating systems, but I'm an adult, so I'm ok with all content since I can choose what to ignore.
