Sir Topham Hatt
I know this is perhaps going to sound like a silly question but here goes: I have a network of two computers, upstairs the main PC, downstairs the HTPC. Both running Windows 7. How would I go about playing music from one of the computers, but allowing the 2nd computer to pick up the feed? So I can be playing Christmas music upstairs, but it will also come out of the speakers downstairs at the same time with no delay. Me being me would think about connecting a physical cable but I don't have a cable as long and it's a bit of hassle a few days before Christmas. +rdlenk Subscriber² Posted December 22, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted December 22, 2013 I believe J River Media Center can do this. (http://www.jriver.com) Its a bit spendy to buy but they do have a trial version that would get you through Christmas at least.
+BudMan MVC Posted December 22, 2013 MVC Share Posted December 22, 2013 Why would you need 3rd party for something so basic? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/stream-your-media-to-devices-and-computers-using-windows-media-player Stream your media to devices and computers using Windows Media Player

Nayos
iTunes and Airplay can do this. You may need shairport4w as well. Or there's logitech media server (squeezebox)
tonyjr
VLC using multicast will keep it in sync. works well over wireless too. nice and easy to setup. edit: i used this last year for the same reason as you.

spikey_richie
You could also use Winamp ShoutCast if none of the other solutions float your boat.
