The Teej
Hey guys. Been looking for a new pair of headphones as my old HD203 pair has finally retired. Asked a few friends in Facebook and done a fair amount of research and decided the two pairs I've whittled it down to are the Sennheiser HD429 and the SteelSeries Siberia v2. I'd be using these primarily for my mobile phone but I'd also occasionally use them on my PC too, so I'd put the mic in the Siberia to good use, but nevertheless my main priority is music quality. I believe the Sennheiser HD429s edge out the Siberias in this regard but I decided to check with you guys as there seems to be no direct comparison reviews online. Mamy thanks in advance everyone! Draconian Guppy
Founds this review for the HD-429 I bought the Sennheiser HD-429 a couple of days back. They sound good and are primarily built for honest sound reproduction rather than favoring bass or any other range of audio frequencies. http://www.head-fi.org/t/615825/sennheiser-hd-429-impressions-reviews
The Teej
The problem with reviews is that both sets of headphones have received favourable reviews but neither have directly said one is better then the other.

It's very hard to compare headphones past a certain point, where the discussion descends into audiophile's fever dreams. If you want something to listen to some music on the go and also play games, SteelSeries is the way to go. If music is your main focus, Sennheiser. But the best possible scenario would be for you to test them out in equal conditions and decide then what kind of sound do you prefer. Some people prefer thumping bass, others not so much. If you spend a significant part of your day listening to music, you should really try them before you buy them.
Art_X
I have SteelSeries Siberia v2 - quite good, better than the MS ones I had, comfortable on the ears and head :)
SMELTN
For gaming I would go with the SteelSeries!! I LOVE mine and have had the Siberia v1 for 7 years. My son now uses the version 1 white ones for listening to his iPad.

The only problem there is that I can't find a shop that has either headphones available to try out :( I guess seen as I already have a gaming headset (made by Sennheiser, coincidentally!) I guess I'll go for the HD429s.
