lol oh the possibilities, like unchecking critical startup items, like OS :devil:

 

??  Nothing in the startup tab is critical to the OS working.  And anything unchecked, can be rechecked.  So really no way to mess anything up.

Try to see if you can find anything suspicious with Hijackthis: http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/

If you know what you're doing, check the suspicious item on the list to remove it.

Looks like a HDD icon to me. Perhaps one of your hard disk monitoring software?
