Wireless 360 for Windows Controller

Recommended Posts

Is anyone here successfully using one?

If so, please read me your drivers.

Win 7 -> Devices & Printers -> XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows -> Properties -> Hardware -> Properties -> Driver -> Driver Details

I have 3:

System32/Drivers/MijXflit.sys

System32/Drivers/xusb21.sys

System32/WtdCoInstaller01009.dll

I cannot connect the controller to the dongle/PC. The dongle is official and seems to be working properly. The controller will connect to my 360 and says "For Use with XBox 360 Console" inside the battery pack. (Official page states: "For PC and XBox 360") The controller and dongle came bundled together.

This doesn't work.

Help please?

I havent had one in such a long time, but isn't there a disk you had to install first?

EDIT: I found the link, I do remember having problems at first then installing the latest one from the website helped. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-wireless-controller-for-windows

Is it a brand new controller or have you had it a while? If you put your ear to the dongle when plugged in, can hear hear a low whine/whistle/peep?

Most likely you have the normal dolphin dongle error that happens on almost all of them. All of these have a SMS fuse in them, why no one knows, it seems to server no real function and always blows, the dongle can be fixed by simple soldering over the fuse bypassing it.

Does the adapter light up when it's plugged in? If so, it's not the fuse problem that HawkMan is talking about. One of my two adapters had the fuse problem and it would not light up nor would the PC recognize it when it was plugged in. Did the fuse bypass and it miraculously came back to life.

Also, if it helps, I'm on Windows 8.1 and the only thing I have listed in driver details is the xusb21.sys

Sorry for the dumb question, but are you sure you're syncing the controller to the dongle correctly?

MijXflit.sys is the filter driver for the MotioninJoy drivers.  I'm going to check (when I get a minute) to see if the file does indeed load on a normal 360 controller at all.  I have MotioninJoy loaded on my machine for my PS3 controller since my current wired 360 controller isn't working properly (left joystick sticks forward sometimes).

Yes, the product came with an install disk, which I successfully used. After I had problems, I also tried the .exe directly from the site, no change.

It was a Black Friday purchase. There is a small frequency detectable that I'm going to pass as normal electrical noise.

The dongle lights up with a solid yellow light. It only has one button. When pressed, it will search, and it will find any controller that I try to link to it; Either of my original 360 controllers + the new "for Windows" controller.

The dongle flashes yellow while searching, goes back to solid yellow when found. The controllers behave normally when searching and when linked to the 360. When linked to the dongle, all 4 quadrants flash on and off and there is no response in Steam's Big Picture Mode.

I was using MiJ software in order to link a PS3 controller. I thought this might interfere and removed MiJ and all of it's drivers. When I do that, a small yellow alert icons displays next to the dongle icon in "Printers & Devices", right clicking and selecting "troubleshoot" prompts Win 7 to automatically reinstall MijXflit.sys

Thanks for the help guys, no luck yet though. :/

I just checked and the MotioninJoy drivers do not load with the adapter so I'm not sure why you have it on yours.  I would right click the adapter then click uninstall.  When prompted make sure to tick the box that tells Windows to remove the driver files too and see if that helps.
