Winter Transfer Window 2014

?50m for Barkley!

Sure he is on good form at the moment but ?50m!

I don't know who Southampton will be signing but we need some more experience in defence.

It is better than last year but still sometimes seem all over the place. I don't know if that is because of the formation/tactics we play.

I expect Osvaldo to go, he is supposedly unhappy in England. Won't be a major loss.

I expect some offers will come in for a few too. Lallana definitely.

I don't think we'll lose any players. For once Saints are in a good position and are not desperate for the money like past years.

I just read about Heitinga. He has the experience but he hasn't played this season, so don't know how fit he'll be.

West Ham need some strikers. Well ones that don't fall apart from a gust of wind.

Yeah we do with Gyan probably being one of them, Carroll took his weekly wage and went on holiday :(

Come on now, that's unfair!  We all know he chipped a toe nail and how distressing that can be.

Wait till he returns! he'll breath and his ribs will break!

That'll be after 6 months of him being absolute rubbish because of how long he has been out.

Then just as he starts finding form, he'll sneeze and be in a coma and when he wakes up he'll be playing for Torquay.

Ha! That is so going to happen a fair few times we are favourites to go down so why join the Titanic!

He wants to be in the dutch world cup squad and play every week. So going to West Ham would have been a good move as he'd be playing every week.

At his age too, i don't think too many big clubs will come knocking on the door to offer him a decent contract and guarantee that'll he'll play often.

Manchester United have made a club-record bid in the region of ?35m for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.

Mata, 25, has been linked with a move from Stamford Bridge having struggled to hold down a regular starting place under Jose Mourinho.

United deny making an official offer, but an initial bid has been tabled through intermediaries acting on behalf of the Premier League champions.

Mata did not train with Chelsea's first team on Wednesday.

Mata is the type of player they need in midfield. Will be a good buy if they get him but at 35 Million?

I'd have said that would be about right last season but he has hardly played this season, so why hasn't his value dropped?

When Man Utd get dumped out the cup tonight. Moyes can at least say they have signed Mata

Chelsea originally said ?21m plus Rooney, that only rates Rooney at ?14m if that's the case

Manchester United have made a ?40million bid for Chelsea's Juan Mata through a third party, according to Sky Sports News sources.

Neither club have confirmed the offer but the playmaker missed training today and it appears that the first move has been made in what would be one of the biggest transfers of the season.

Deals of this magnitude are seldom completed without complications and the indications are that intermediaries are being allowed to make the running in negotiations before matters are made official.

All parties are keen for the transfer to go through, according to Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guilleme Balague, and there has been speculation that a medical will take place before the weekend.

Third Party? As a West Ham fan we know all about that dubious dealing

Wasn't there a third party involved at the start of the season? a supposed agent acting on behalf of Man Utd trying to sign a player ( i forget which).

Supposedly it will be confirmed today that Mata will be moving. If he does. It'll be the first good thing Moyes has done at the club.
