Warframe possibly heading to the Xbox One

Recommended Posts

?Warframe? on Xbox One may be heading to Europe following a PEGI rating

"Warframe, Digital Extremes? free-to-play, co-op third-person shooter on PC and PlayStation 4, appears to be headed for an Xbox One release ? at least in Europe. An Xbox One content rating recently appeared alongside the PC and PS4 entries in the PEGI database, but there has been no official word on a release on Microsoft?s console yet. PEGI, short for Pan European Game Information, is Europe?s game ratings agency, analogous with the United States? own ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board). "

Warframe is Digital Extremes? latest release. The developer is perhaps best known for its work on the Unreal series and getting a PEGI rating for Xbox One content looks like Warframe is coming to the Xbox.

This game is Free-2-Play and if/when its released and you want to give it a shot you will be given an option to pick one of three Warframes to start with.

Loki:

Excalibur:

MAG:

Your stuck with this choice for awhile until you save up enough credits and collect new warframe components so its good to see what they actually do before you pick one. :)

Good year for gaming in general :)

Lots of big releases coming out and now that both the PS4 and Xbox One have sold in record numbers in comparison to their prev-gen models I think many developers will be focusing on the next-gen console market a bit more.

I do wonder if we will see a quicker migration to next gen consoles for most developers compared to previous launches. I mean when you have two consoles push past 2 million units so quickly, its hard to ignore. Although, I guess we could see a sharp drop off in sales next year, but that just seems hard to believe right now.

I guess that's good news for anyone who hasn't played the game yet on PC or PS4. But in my opinion, the game is so mind-numbingly run-of-the-mill, boring I don't understand why people like the game. And the artificial wait times to unlock items and suits is just annoying.

Im not big on WarFrame personally.  But I'm all for more games to be played on the Xbox One though.  And i'm sure that this title wil fill someones void.

Great and all for xbox one owners but anyone who is interested in this game is better off playing on the PC as most PS4 players probably now know.

Updates lag behind and cross play between pc and console that was promised can't happen until each systems updates are in sync..and it's never gonna happen with how often they update the game and release hot fixes. And from what I understand microsoft has always been worse with game updates.

Granted those aren't really reasons to not play the xbox one version (if and when it happens) but if you want to always be playing the most updated version of the game pc is where it's at.

Would have prefered War Thunder but can't complain at free games, that is if MS don't find a way to sneak in a cost!

Its micro-transactions, I wouldn't call them micro actually some packs are over $100. But Steam makes a cut on the PC market, PSN on the PS4 and Xbox Live will on the Xbox One. But everything which is available to paying players is available to free players you just have to play more to save up credits and get components rather than instantly buying a warframe, weapon, mod, etc with platinum.

There is a trade market also so if you get rare mods/components you don't want you can sell them to people for platinum (Which is what people pay real money for) and get stuff you want quicker than grinding for them .

Wasn't a fan of the default game pad control layout.

You can change the default settings to whichever buttons you want in controller settings under options menu.

Played a little on PS4,not bad but nothing special. Felt very clunky. The mission structure and feel reminded me more of Brink than Mass Effect 3 MP.

chances are .... slim

I don't think slim, Sony are allowing their free to play titles to be played by everyone. MS' hand might be forced here. I was throwing the remark out as I can't remember if they had already commented about Live and free to play games at E3?

Hmm. interesting.. maybe if MS gets a big enough cut of the microtransactions it will be worth it for them to keep it free

MS was definitely talking about allowing F2P game outside of the Gold requirement, even MMOs on the X1.

I just don't think its been confirmed for a specific game yet, so we will have to wait and see what they do.

I wonder if anyone plays that game anymore. Brink, that is.

The thing is, the prices for platinum is increased on the PS4 to compensate for the cut that Sony gets. At least I seem to remember reading that..I don't have a PS4 to actually see for myself.

I was playing it over Xmas. Still love it. Such an underrated / misunderstood game.

Can't wait for Extraction aka Dirty Bomb.
