Playing Bioshock on Survivor difficulty...

Recommended Posts

Bioshock was in the recent PSN sale for like ?2 something! Had to pick it up to replay it, especially considering I never played the PS3 copy and can get trophies. Trying to do a 1 platinum playthrough on Survivor mode, and holy sheetballs its hard.

Anyone else done it and have some tips? I just got the wrench monkey plasmid, thankfully! Going to have to save bullets for the big daddies.

Well, I thought the minimum playthru count was 2 but hope you can do it. Best tip is to save all the sisters as you get the max equipment. Also, make sure you research all the enemies - too easy to miss some of the rare ones - lol - oh, and there are two Sander Cohen hidden trophys - :)

Do it in 2 runs ;). Leave the Survivor run for when you have every missable and collectible trophy out of the way so you can just blitz trough the game.

At the elevator prior to the last fight. Have every trophy except historian, must of missed a few audio logs. Will hunt them down tomorrow and then the plat will be mine. Survivor difficulty really isn't that hard once you get powered up a bit.

I enjoyed Bioshock. I may have to pick it up myself, I seem to remember seeing it on sale and thinking, "ooh, that would be awesome!" Then I saw my library of untouched games and thought twice. Stupid me. :(

No excuse!  The Bioshock series is a 'must own' trilogy.

I'm not sure about the trilogy, but the first game was amazing, I loved it. And Infinite looks fun, but I was never really on-board with 2. Something about being the first Big Daddy didn't really work for me. That said though, I never got round to playing 2, so perhaps I can be swayed. Give it your best shot. ;)

First game is amazing, this is true (one of my favourite games ever, actually).  Second game isn't as good, but still decent and Infinite is kinda like a Call of Duty take on the series.

All of the games are a lot of fun, but it reminds me of the Mass Effect trilogy in terms of development throughout the series.  With each game more focus is brought onto the combat, but to be fair to it Infinite's story was quite good, even though it felt more like a corridor shooter than a Bioshock game.  In fact, I'd go as far to say it was the story that made me finish Infinite as I started to grow a little tired of the rinse-repeat gameplay - the 'Burial At Sea' DLC is quite interesting, I loved returning to Rapture and seeing it before it fell to ruin.

I actually really enjoyed 2, not as good as 1, but definitely nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. Put it this way you aren't finding many better FPS story related games.

I only played and finished Bioshock 1. I got bored in 20 min playing the second one..

I really enjoyed the 2nd, think I'm the only person though! I just enjoy the universe.

I never got around to playing the 2nd game either. I still have it in plastic actually :/ I pre-ordered it with a lot of expectations but my hype died by the time it released. Think the only reason I kept the pre-order was for the Little Sister figurine to go with my Big Daddy

The original has aged beautifully, it still looks great today. I remember the water effects really wowing me at the time but they've since been surpassed in many titles. The style and art though make it unique though. I think BS1 still has my all time favourite game quote too "No God or Kings. Only Man" (Y)

Great quote! And yeah it holds up well, even on the sub-HD ps3. Pretty sure I read it was sub-HD anyway.

Many other FPS games try to meld story and shooter and fail, BioShock is one of if not the best at doing it.
