Select 1, Item 1

I use the voice commands for Netflix all the time.  I say "xbox select" and all the shows have green text that says "Item 1" "Item 2"  and so on.  Every now and then after I say SELECT 1, it skips to another screen with smaller tiles for the shows.  Then the same show I said SELECT 1 on now has yellow text that says ITEM 1.

 

Why is it asking me to select the same show again but use the words ITEM instead of SELECT?   Doesnt happen all the time.

My guess is that sometimes it has more than one result for whatever your picking and that forces it to ask you to be more specific.

 

Yea, but the thing is...there is only one SELECT 1 text on the screen.  So not sure whats going on.  The Netflix APP has other issues so maybe just a bug. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

 

Just use a controller if it bothers you that bad.

 

Well no duh and it is not bothering me "that bad"  I posted a question to a problem.  But thank you for your....thoughts.

It could be a bug then for sure.

If it is correctly registering you saying 'select 1', then the app must have an issue sending you to the right place. Does this happen if you use the controller? I guess the voice commands could be using its own path to items from the service.

It's because the way you said it has a similar probability of matching two prompts, so it goes into that verification mode.  Hopefully they'll come out with a more voice aware Netflix app later.  Right now it's just clicking on items for you based on prompts.

Have not tried the controller yet.  I am thinking it is a bug since if I add a show to my que while Netflix on the X1 is running, Netflix will error out when I stop to go back to the main Netflix screen.  Netflix will also go in to a loop at times where it will start playing a show, stop/steam, start again, stop and stream...until I restart the X1.  Netflix also doesnt update my play list when I add a show until I reset the X1.

There is only one line that would say "Select 1".  There is Select 2, Select 3, and so on.  Doesnt happen often to be a real problem, was just curious if anyone else saw it.
