Motherboard issue?

Recommended Posts

Hy. A friend of mine pleased be to help him with his mother's pc which seems to be more tricky that I thought :

- It starts but there's no signal to monitor from GPU (integrated in motherboard)..

- Tried to restart but the button won't work.

- Tried to force shutting-down from button but won't work either (even it starts from the same button).

- Even the dvd-writer won't open/react..even it's connected to mobo.

I quess the mobo's dead but I need more opinions. It's only a "motherboard-pc" with all components integrated on it (GPU/sound card etc).

Thanks for any ideeas.

It's not posting. You have three things to try: (1) Re-seat external components (e.g. RAM), (2) CMOS reset, and (3) Testing an alternative PSU.

If none of those things work, then most likely the board is bricked.

what snaphat said :)

although i would go first for the PSU, you can do the 1) and 2) because they are cheap to do (no cost at all). :)
