Universal Media Server 3.3.0

Question

No one else seems to have noted the latest version of UMS so I thought I would do it.

I normally use Twonky but thought I would try something different.

Had no issues with the setup. Does what it's supposed to do without any problems.

One plus point is that it can do on the fly format conversion so I can now watch video files that my TV doesn't normally like.

Not bad for a free product!

It's essential for a PS3, discussion topic here - https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/614188-how-can-i-play-my-hd-content-on-my-ps3-mkv/page-72

Builds 3.3.1 and 3.4.0, neither publically released yet have a way to bypass cinavia, I posted a build for 3.4.0 in the topic above.

i had been using this for a long time however, i recently switched to Plex player and i prefer the server side configuration and settings for it better. not to mention it can find additional information about the media that you are playing rather than just throwing the information out there to be streamed. Also the server is still free they just charge for the mobile apps. (no purchase is required however, if you just want to stream from a computer to your PS3,4 or Vita)
