I need help with picking out an audio setup for pc

5 posts in this topic

I'm currently using a logitech z5500 and I'm looking to get a good start on a real audio setup. Do you guys have any ideas on what I'd need? I'd like something I can piece together. Something that could monitor music recording with.

If you like Logitech, stick with logitech. They're where it's at, price range.

But they are nowhere near usable for true studio monitoring. They don't have interchangeable components.

Are you looking at a stereo set up?

I really like my edirol/Roland ma-15d as they are in the sweet spot for studio monitor quality computer speaker price point and have a sub out that I connect my Yamaha sub to. They have spdif in digital coax in and stereo red/white in with a 1/4 headphone jack on the front

Great quality and sound. Very loud and they are the right size to keep on a desk or mount

What's the price point? If you want to splurge get some huge Mackie pairs and be happy for the rest of your life

I have this paired with a FireWire edirol/Roland fa-66 sound card and it more than meets all my needs for recording low latency, many inputs etc

I'm aiming to keep it under 750 to start if possible.
