Thinking about some minor upgrades

Recommended Posts

It's been about a year and a half since I've built my PC. I currently have an Ivy Bridge i5-3450, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 128 GB SATA3 SSD, and a GeForce 210. I really skimped on the graphics card and SSD to cut costs. I am not that concerned about the SSD and it's low storage space. I have 1.5 TB of USB3 drives at my disposal. I am considering a GPU update, however. I am not a gamer, but on the rare occasion that I want to play a PC game, the GeForce 210 is just not sufficient. Even games that aren't very graphic intensive lag horribly and have low frame rates on the lowest settings.

I am pretty sure this is my GPU. I want something that can adequately handle most modern games but I don't need anything too insane. I don't want to spend more than maybe $60-80 US. I'm sure that there is something better than my current card at that price. I know that I probably can't get a lot for that price, but on the rare occasion that I do want to play a game, I want to actually be able to play it and not have to worry about dropped frames.

Also, and a minor thing that I want to take care of while I'm upgrading is that I want a new wireless card. My current card is a carryover from my previous build. It's really old. 802.11g old. I want at least an 802.11n card, but an 802.11ac card would be preferable. Any recommended internal 802.11ac cards?

Thanks!

I do not have an ac router, but I plan on getting one at some point.

I realize $80 isn't going to get me far, but almost anything will be better than what I have.
