Elliot B.
I am getting a second 7870 XT and my current motherboard only supports 16x/4x (I want one that supports at least 8x/8x). I decided on a Z77 board so I could potentially overclock my 3570K. The cheapest Z77 boards with at least 8x/8x are: ?79 - ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M (4x SATA2, 4x SATA3) ?85 - ASRock Z77 Extreme4 (4x SATA2, 4x SATA3) ?97 - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H (2x SATA2, 4x SATA3) Does anyone have any thoughts about any of these? I believe the top one (the "-M") is basically a smaller version of the middle one. I'm thinking I should go for the normal size one, since I have a very large PC case? daorbed9
I have the Extreme4, rock solid. I work with Gigabyte and Asus boards everyday and would say they are not worth the extra price IMO.
Phouchg
Voting for Asrock Z77 Extreme4. I generally like Asrock boards. They're inexpensive, but well featured, and have simple, understandable, yet powerful UEFI config. Onboard switches and port 80h debug display will help to if OC fails, too.
