NBA 2k14 Xbox One Issues (Unplayable)

Anyone else have issues with playing NBA 2k14 on the Xbox One? Both my brother and I literally cannot play the game due to it crashing out to the main menu/Xbox Home screen when trying to play a game in the MyCareer mode.

 

Specifically what's happening to me is that shortly after I start a game in MyCareer, typically upon the first made/missed shot by any player in the game, the screen blacks out for a second and then quits out to Xbox Home dashboard view with NBA 2k14 title screen as the main tile. Clicking the tile again starts up NBA 2k14 from scratch.

 

I've tried clearing cache, hard resets, wired/wireless, uninstalling and reinstalling all with no luck.

 

It seems to be some kind of issue with the game save in the cloud. Saving to the cloud is a great feature, but it's quite miserable when it doesn't work as expected since there is no "local" save alternative, unfortunately. :(

 

Anyone else having any similar issues with their NBA 2k14?

By the way, this issue is pretty widespread it seems, just check out 2k Sports' Support account on Twitter... It's been going on for more than a month now. Pretty pathetic.

I have heard about many people having connection issues like yours.

I was looking to pick this game up, but hearing the issues makes me wonder if I should wait.

2K studios have acknowledged the issues back in early December and released a patch early Jan, but it didn't fix the problem. Just have to wait till they release a patch that fixes it I guess.

 

Also try removing all accessories on your myCareer player from the 'Features' menu, this has helped stop the crashes for some people on the game forums and YouTube.

Is there some kind of reason or something that once ingame, you cannot disconnect internet and keep playing?

Unfortunately, the game won't let you play without a constant connection to the 2k servers. When disconnected (even after establishing a connection initially) it gives you an error saying so.

This is not 2K related directly, but it may be a sign of general issues when you make your game so reliant on an internet connection.

I have been playing the NBA Live 14 demo and for the last couple of days, it has been unplayable thanks to the EA server connection dropping while I'm in the middle of a game. It literally drops and kicks me back to the start screen for the game, its ridiculous and it shows me why a person might not want to buy either game, at least right now, if the connection issues are this bad for both.

Just to close the loop on this one. It looks like NBA 2k14's latest title update has resolved most of the issues people were seeing. I'm now able to finally play again, yay :)
