wheres the yes because I don't give a **** about religion?

That would be option 1. Because option 2 says "Yes because I care he is atheist" and option 3 says "No because I care she is atheist".....option 1 is the "Yes, religion doesn't affect my political views" choice.

OP, this is second thread you create related to religion and atheists in less then a hour.. do you want to make a point?

Just show Nashville show and atheist was a big topic. So I want to ask this question.

To whomever voted for the 2nd option, you're crazy. You'd vote for ANYONE, just because they were an atheist? Congrats on electing Joseph Stalin..  I picked the first option because religion shouldn't have jack to do with running a country.

The problem is.. with #1.. it's saying "Yes I would vote BECAUSE I am atheist" not "I would vote because religion means nothing to me"

By that logic, you are saying you would vote for them BECAUSE you don't care about religion.....how is that any different?

I honestly don't understand your misunderstanding of options 1.....option 1 states "Yes, IF I have the same political views".....just because two people have the same religious standing doesn't mean they have the same political views....

I'm agnostic and I vote for the candidate that I share the most political views with......based on what you said, I am voting on those candidates because they are also agnostic, which obviously they are not.

lol just saw that the pool is broken: option 3 refers to a "she" while the 2nd option refer to a "he".

Year, made a sexist joke out of it. But its really not a sexist but an atheist thing.

OP's next topic: if you're an atheist would you atheist your atheism?

I try to vote for competent leaders; their religious ideology is of little concern to me.

I'm more concerned with the fact that we have religious people in government.  It holds us back.

Stem cells.  That is all.

I don't care what religion a leader has, as long as if he does have one, he doesn't let it influence his decision making. The second he tries to drag religion into his job he should be sent out the door.

What happens if the candidates worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster or some other exotic cult does that still make them non-religious in your eyes.Ergo what are you counting as a religion?

Religion

the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods:

a particular system of faith and worship:

Atheist

a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods:

I think it would be more likely that I would vote for someone who is an atheist, but only after I agreed with their political views.

No offense to anyone who is religious but I think anyone who believes a man sits in the sky and controls everything is illogical.

That would be the President aboard Airforce One

Sure, why not, we voted a Muslim into office and didn't elect a Mormon, can't worse than being a Mormon, right?

Well we seem to have drawn the line a Mormons as not good to be President, anything more exotic than that will have a real hard time gaining any traction

I would have no problem with an athiest president, as long as he/she isn't as crazy as Obama is and actually WORKS with congress through compromise rather than stomping his feet like a little kid.

A; Yes, if the person has the countries best interests in mind why would I vote based on religious bias?

B: what is with all the Atheist attack posts lately.
