Bluetooth Keyboard Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi -

I am considering replacing my keyboard with a bluetooth model,

I would like to understand this a little better.

I am not an expert on bluetooth, but as far as I understand the keyboard will need to 'paired' with my computer.  How does this work until it is paired? Do I need to keep another keyboard plugged in?

Once paired, will the keyboard work in the BIOS or before the driver loads?  If not, how do I enter the BIOS settings or safe mode? Neither are something I do often, but may need to do on occasion?

Bluetooth keyboards come with a Bluetooth dongle that goes into the USB ports unless you meant using built in Bluetooth in your BIOS?

I have a bluetooth keyboard, the Logitech Solar wireless K750. It comes with a USB dongle.

You plug the dongle in, you turn the keyboard on, and it works. There is additional software you can install to properly configure all the extra keys for the keyboard. You can then also pair more bluetooth devices with the same dongle, though I only have the one.

I have no problem getting into the BIOS this way.
