no-sweat
Hi. In Windows 8 (and Windows 7 I believe), I was able to hit the start button, paste a file path from my clipboard, and hit enter. The folder would then open in windows explorer.. it was great and made navigating to the path so quick and easy. In Windows 8.1, I can hit the start button but pasting does nothing :( Instead I have to bring up the menu on the right side, hit Search, THEN paste it. Did I configure something wrong to make this happen or did Microsoft just change this feature? Any tips how to get it back? I guess I could add the address toolbar to my taskbar but I'd rather have the old way back, it's still easier! Thanks!
Eric Veteran Posted January 26, 2014 Veteran Share Posted January 26, 2014 Hit Windows-R and paste the path into the run box. (I just tried pasting a path into Win 8 Start screen's search and it worked fine. Use Win-F to bring up File search.)

no-sweat
Thanks guys, Win+Q is the winner. Win+R is a good backup. And, backspacing the metro search is the backup backup :D Thanks again
