+InsaneNutter MVC Posted January 27, 2014 MVC Share Posted January 27, 2014 I can't really think of any desktop apps that would work better as modern apps, nothing i use on a regular basis would be any better been touch enabled, or having to scroll right to see more of the app. Modern Apps are more for consuming content, not creating it, in my opinion of course. Romero
Also modern apps are slower than their "desktop" apps counterparts. That might be the case for JavaScript-based apps but anything written in C or C# shouldn't be slower as far as I know. DConnell Member Posted January 27, 2014 Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Everything. I'd like Metro options for everything I use. Not necessarily as replacements for the desktop versions, but as supplements. It would be useful to have more touch-capable versions of productivity programs on the Surface, especially in the Pro where the desktop version could also be used when it made sense. I'm not saying that there might not be features missing from the Metro version, but a version with at least the "core" functions would be nice, especially if the full program were still available in the desktop.
