The Guardian newspaper, which broke the story on the massive NSA spying based on information shared by whistleblower Edward Snowden, said the NSA and its British counterpart have also been exploiting security vulnerabilities in mobile apps. The spying includes apps used on Apple Inc.?s/quotes/zigman/68270/delayed/quotes/nls/aaplAAPL iPhone and smartphones using Google Inc.?s/quotes/zigman/93888/delayed/quotes/nls/googGOOGAndroid operating system. And they include wildly popular mobile games, such as Angry Birds. The operation is focused mainly on collecting and sorting through massive amounts of user data being sent from the apps, the report said. ?
