Petition Urges Sega to Port More Games to PC

Recommended Posts

Over 6,000 self-indentified PC gamers want Sega to bring more of its console games to personal computers, according to a petition launched on Change.org. The petition, which has 6,539 supporters (as of this writing), calls on Sega to bring more console games to the PC. The petition name checks some particularly popular titles including PlatinumGames' Bayonetta and Vanquish, SEGA AM2's Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, and other popular titles. The three named titles would serve as a "market test" to see if bringing these games to the PC platform would be profitable, according to the petition.

"We're requesting that you port these initial three so that we can demonstrate that the PC market will support this type of content, allowing you to then make a better determination as to which games will best suit your PC audience going forward, as well as allowing you to bring renewed consideration to those other titles if this effort proves successful."

The petition also noted that Sega is a very strong PC publisher thanks to its franchises such as Football Manager and Total War, and its recent acquisition of Relic and the Company of Heroes franchise from THQ.

The petition closes by noting that the three mentioned games are not the focus of the petition; the goal is to get Sega to bring more of its popular franchises to PC gamers.

I miss Sega.  I wish they still made some of their better franchises, such as Panzer Dragoon, Skies of Arcadia, etc.  I would love to see them on consoles (And PC's) again...

This might be slightly off topic but if Sega owns Relic now does that mean that we will eventually see Dawn of War 3? I really hope so.

IIRC Creative Assembly are at work on a Warhammer game.

Games workshop announced a new partnership a few days ago too: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-warhammer-40k-game-in-the-works/1100-6405336/

I was looking over a list of recent Sega titles and honestly I have no desire to play any of them, even if they showed up on a $1.99 Steam sale or something.

Sega is fairly irrelevant these days. If it's a nostalgia thing, you can emulate all the older titles with ease...
