Nick H. Supervisor Posted January 30, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted January 30, 2014 Since you haven't mentioned why you're doing this in the first place, all I can suggest is reading this. It includes details on the various options available to you.
damindor
I am trying to fix windows image error which is more annoying then anything else and certainly is not worth reinstalling windows I read through the guide you posted but if I do this repair option will my programs stil be installed or will they need to be reinstalled
helpifIcan
Ths link is more detailed, a repair install only overwrites the OS and does not do a format. As always there is always a chance that something coud go wrong so the best thing to do is create and image backup of the drive. If you do not do this there is a chance of losing everything. To be extra safe also backup all you personal files such as pic, vids, favorites, MS files, ect, anything you cannot afford to lose. http://www.123seminarsonly.com/Tips/003/Perform-an-In-Place-Upgrade-Reinstallation-of-Windows-XP.html
