how should I resell something on eBay?

Recommended Posts

I'm selling a new Surface Pro on eBay that I got from Best Buy with that discount. I just got the package, it has a packing slip with a merchandise return form. Should I include this or should I take this out, print out my receipt from online and put it in the box? I feel like someone would think its fishy reading this slip from Best Buy only a couple days before they got it in their hands from me on eBay. But people resell all the time. Maybe I'm over thinking it. It has my name and address and order number on it with a return label.

Is the printed receipt sufficient if they need to return it to Best Buy?

If so, I'd go with that. It's never nice, realising you paid more than you could have.

You do realize that when you ship it to the ebay buyer via whatever service they will have your name and address from the shipping label.

The Surface has a warranty with Microsoft, so the whole talk about Bestbuy shouldn't even matter. Bestbuy isn't the hardware vendor and doesn't support the vendor warranty. They can go here and register their hardware - http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/register

Then setup any support/exchange services if something should go wrong.

Ok, you guys make good points. I'm not allowing returns to me, I just don't want them thinking he made me pay more! And doing something about it like filing a case to get their money back. I don't know. I'm used to selling used items, not unopened new items.

I wouldn't include anything about what you paid.. as that would ###### people off.  Almost as much as it does when people buy consoles at launch then sell them for 300$ more.

Wait so should I not include the receipt or anything at all then? And say it can be registered online with Microsoft using the serial number?

Yeah you don't need any proof of purchase to register the serial number with MS, as long as no one else has it registered.
